INDIEVEST PICTURES BEGINS PRODUCTION ON
SAINT JOHN OF LAS VEGAS
Los Angeles, CA (August 1, 2008) - IndieVest Pictures President Mark Burton announced today that principal photography has commenced on IndieVest Pictures' first film, SAINT JOHN OF LAS VEGAS. The picture marks the writing and directorial debut of Hue Rhodes, who attended the NYU graduate film program. Mark Burton and Matt Wall are producing for IndieVest, which is fully financing the film. Also producing are Circle of Confusion’s Lawrence Mattis and Kelly McCormick. SAINT JOHN also marks the first production of Olive Productions, whose partners Steve Buscemi, Stanley Tucci and Wren Arthur are serving as Executive Producers. Spike Lee, who mentored Rhodes, is also an Executive Producer on the film.
SAINT JOHN OF LAS VEGAS, a loose adaptation of Dante's Inferno, stars Steve Buscemi as an ex-gambler under the tutelage of a maverick insurance fraud investigator played by Romany Malco. Emily Mortimer stars as their quirky co-worker. Tim Blake Nelson, John Cho and Emmanuelle Chriqui have also joined the cast, which is shooting in Albuquerque and Las Vegas. Actor/Director Buscemi has starred in over 80 films, including RESERVOIR DOGS, FARGO and a remake of Theo Van Gogh's INTERVIEW, which he also co-wrote and directed. Malco, who is best known for his performance in THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, was most recently seen in THE LOVE GURU and the acclaimed Showtime series WEEDS.

Circle of Confusion, with offices in Los Angeles and New York, is a management and production company known for representing writers and directors such as The Wachowski Brothers and Simon Kinberg.
Olive Productions, which is based out of New York, was formed earlier this year by principals Steve Buscemi, Stanley Tucci and Wren Arthur. Buscemi and Tucci are widely respected for their work in the independent and studio worlds over the last twenty years, both as actor and director. Arthur worked with the late Robert Altman for the past 12 years and produced the director's A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION.
